Ace music composer Wajid Khan has passed away a while ago.
In terribly tragic news coming in a little after midnight, we have learnt that Wajid Khan, music composer and one half of the Sajid-Wajid duo, has passed away. We had learnt a few hours ago that he was critical and on a ventilator, with chronic breathing problems. While there is speculation on social media that Wajid’s passing away was because of coronavirus, there hasn’t been any confirmation of the same, so far.
Last year, Wajid had undergone an angioplasty because of massive arterial blockages. However, he had recovered from the same but kept a rather low profile after that. Wajid was last seen at the music launch of Salman Khan’s Dabanng 3.
Wajid formed an immensely successful team with his brother Sajid Khan, both of them being sons of tabla player Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan and grandson of Padma Shri winner Ustad Abdul Latif Khan. Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, Dabangg, Ek Tha Tiger and Bodyguard remain some of their biggest successes. Sajid-Wajid were given their first break by Salman Khan in Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya in 1998 and have been the superstar’s favourite composers since then.
Wajid’s demise is a big loss to the music industry. Our prayers are with the family.
