Rajesh Khanna Classic Anand’s Lyricist, Yogesh, Passes Away

Senior lyricist Yogesh, known for classics Anand, Baaton Baaton Mein, Rajnigandha, is no more. The end came this afternoon.

Legendary lyricist Yogesh Gaur, who went only by his first name in the industry is no more. He was 77. The end came this afternoon.

India’s Nightingale Lata Mangeshkar has tweeted: “Mujhe abhi pata chala ki dil ko chunewale geet likhnewale kavi Yogesh ji ka aaj swargwas hua. Ye sunke mujhe bahut dukh hua.Yogesh ji ke likhe kai geet maine gaaye. Yogesh ji bahut shaant aur madhur swabhav ke insan the. Main unko vinamra shraddhanjali arpan karti hun.”Yogesh was an outstanding lyricist, his filmography comprises of Rajnigandha (1974), Chhoti Si Baat (1976), Manzil (1979), Baton Baton Mein (1979) and many other unforgettable films.

Yogesh pennerd the unforgettable  ‘Zindagi kaisi hai paheli’ and  ‘Kahin door jab din dhal jaye’  was a frequent member of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee’s classics.

Yogesh, who started his career in Bollywood with Sakhi Robin (1962), had stopped writing since late 90s.
