Jackie Shroff gets candid in his inimitable style on a host of things in an AUDIO INTERVIEW. Jaggu Dada (as he’s fondly called) speaks about Radhe, Sooryavanshi, Jugnu, Hrithik and Tiger.
I caught up with the charming man of Bollywood, Jackie Shroff, over an audio call. It is always a pleasure speaking to Jackie and this time was no exception. We started off talking about the lockdown and when I told him it’s damn frustrating to sit at home, he corrected me, “I think we are still damn lucky, ghar pe baithe toh hain. My heart bleeds when I see the migrants on roads.”
Jackie is currently engaged in farming and arranging food for theatre and film backstage workers, with some NGOs working with him. The senior superstar’s films that are stuck because of COVID-19, are Radhe, Sooryavanshi and Jugnu.
The topic veered towards Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan, the two gems we lost in April. Jackie revealed that he had stopped texting Rishi after a certain point, somewhere in March.
Jackie also shared his take on the recent trend of feature films releasing on OTT. “Jiska paisa laga hai, only he knows. Ab producer apna ghar toh nahin bech sakta na.” But he said that the story may be different with big-ticket films like his upcoming Radhe and Sooryavanshi.
