It’s all over. Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife will not go back to him, unless a miracle happens. She has spoken about the cracks a bit here and there, but in an exclusive interview with me, gets candid like never before. Aaliya specifically outlines a few reasons responsible for her having sent him a legal notice, demanding divorce and maintenance.

Earlier today, when I had interviewed Aaliya’s lawyer, Abhay Sahai, he had underlined that “the matter is very serious.” Just a while back, Aaliya spoke to me. Excerpts:

What’s gone wrong?

Obviously a lot, else I wouldn’t have taken such a big, drastic step after eleven years of being married to him. I tried my best to make it work. I tried my best to let go things. But eventually, it became too much.

Please continue…
There was a lot of family torture.

From Nawaz’s family’s side?
Yes, and it was abject mental torture. Bahut zyaada ho gaya tha.

You’ve said his brother Shamas was a problem?
Yes, too much interference from him.

Your phone was tapped by them, if I am not wrong…
Yes, that was also one issue. Shamas started interfering in our personal life too.

Is Nawaz controlled by Shamas?
Yes. But, believe me, I had many other problems too in my marriage besides just these.

But hadn’t they parted ways? Shamas had even given a public statement over having differences with him in one of their production ventures…
Yes, but seems they are back again.
